Building our Future Together
I will be the strong, collaborative and innovative leader Redwood City deserves. I will listen, respect all opinions, and strive to identify common sense, consensus solutions and encourage residents to participate in the process.
The issues of housing and transit are regional. Therefore some of the solutions will require partnering across the region while advocating for our share of funding. As an experienced businesswoman, I believe I have what it takes to raise Redwood City’s voice in these discussions. That’s why I’m committed to partnering with local governments, the non-profit community and leaders at the County and State level. I am honored to have earned the support of many of these leaders like Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, Congresswoman Jackie Speier, Assembly Members Mullin and Berman, Supervisors Horsely, Capena, and Simitian; and Mayors and Council Members up and down the Peninsula.
There are other challenges uniquely impacting Redwood City: we have the lowest percentage of park space per resident in the Bay Area, we have a dwindling downtown retail landscape and we are facing a 2018/2019 budget shortfall that could impact City Services and public safety departments. These require a local solution set, listening to residents, leading a community involvement process and evaluating new ideas. I am honored to have earned the support of residents and community leaders who care about these issues like Shelly Masur, Sheriff Carlos Bolanos, and residents from every Redwood City neighborhood.
This campaign focuses on the issues that are impacting you:
Reducing traffic and improving safety for all modes of transit.
Investing in our schools.
Increasing childcare options.
Attracting and retaining ground floor retail and supporting Small Business & Entrepreneurs.
Bringing a Smart Growth approach to development.
Retaining Neighborhood Character.
Increasing our Parks Spaces & Protecting Open Space.
Protecting Public Safety & Neighborhood services.
Engaging more residents in important decisions.
Across all of these areas I commit to you to listen, work hard for you and be a champion for community involvement, allowing you to participate in local government on your terms. I will bring my four years of Planning Commission experience to the City Council, already versed on the issues and processes and ready to get to work for you.
I believe every voice matters. Whether you’ve been here for 2 months or 20 years, I will be a voice for you on our City Council. Let’s build our future together Redwood City!
