Commissioner Giselle Hale noted that projects offering an opportunity for home ownership don’t come around often, and that those who spoke up at the meeting had shown her that Habitat for Humanity projects bring communities together.

“The conversation tonight really ultimately boils down to a conversation about tradeoffs,” she said.

“About what is acceptable, what is permissible about what we want to do, what we want to choose.”
